About the Allocations Process

The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati funds programs and services in five areas:

  • Senior Adults
  • Youth & Family
  • Jewish Life and Learning
  • National Agencies
  • Israel/Overseas

The allocations process begins with the work of three councils:

  • Council on Jewish Life and Learning
  • Senior Adult Council
  • Youth & Family Council

Council members made site visits to agencies providing services within each area and subsequently participated in an intensive process of evaluating the programs, their impact and the outcomes they provide for our community.  Council members understood the crucial nature of their work and went to extraordinary lengths to ensure that every dollar was directed to support the greatest human and communal needs. Our Global Partners

The Jewish Agency for Israel connects the Federation community in an unparalled global partnership singularly devoted to ensuring the future of the Jewish people with a strong Israel at its heart.

The Jewish Agency
works in communities around the world with a dual purpose: to help Jews who want to come home to Israel; and to put Israel into the lives of the Jewish world’s next generation. Through dynamic partnership platforms with the people of Israel, such as Partnership 2000 and Youth Futures, the Jewish Agency creates equal opportunity for at-risk immigrants and young people, strengthens Israel’s vulnerable communities, and connects all of the Jewish people in shaping
the future character of Israeli society.

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) works with, and on behalf of, North America’s Jewish Federations to extend our communities’ caring for our fellow Jews in Israel and around the world. Our rescue and relief programs aid imperiled or impoverished Jews who have no other lifeline. JDC revitalizes Jewish life, reconnecting Jews to their heritage and to each other, helping them to rebuild strong, self-sufficient communities. In Israel, special partnerships enable us to join with our Jewish State in its constant striving to overcome the social challenges its most vulnerable citizens still face. JDC gives global expression to our enduring Jewish principle – that all Jews are responsible one for another.
