Cincinnati’s Israel Emissary Prevented from Returning for 4th Year by US Immigration Service
It is with sadness that we inform you that the U.S. Immigration Service has denied the work visa petition for Amir Yarchi, Cincinnati’s Community Emissary from Israel. As a result, Amir is unable to return to our community to serve his fourth year as Israel Emissary (shaliach). Unfortunately, during this time of skyrocketing unemployment, the U.S. Immigration Service has rejected work visa petitions much more frequently, and in this case, incorrectly. Read more

Alvin and Elayne Levine Scholarship FundAl Levine’s desire to encourage others to live meaningful Jewish lives will endure in perpetuity, thanks to the establishment of the Alvin and Elayne Levine Scholarship Fund at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati. Through this fund, any member of the Jewish community can join the new JCC, regardless of their financial circumstances.
